This 1957 Chevy Bel Air Hardtop Sport Coupe is a beautifully  restored vehicle originally built to promote the GM RamJet 350 crate engine. It features a Tuxedo Black exterior with high gloss paint, new disc brakes, and Mickey Thompson S/R tires. The interior includes new upholstery, a padded vinyl dashboard, and a clean trunk. Mechanically, it has a RamJet 350 engine, 4-speed manual transmission, and various performance enhancements. The car drives smoothly at all speeds, cruising at 70 mph at 2000 RPM and 80 mph at 2300 RPM. Recent maintenance includes fresh spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor, coolant, engine oil, transmission fluid, brake fluid, and rear differential fluid. This Bel Air was purchased from a Michigan car collector in 2020 and remains in excellent condition with only 3,000 miles driven since restoration. Expect smooth and strong sounds with a distinctive powerful tone without being too loud. Preview: Up for your consideration is a stunningly restored 1957 Chevy Bel Air Hardtop Sport Coupe. This California-built vehicle was originally designed by a Chevrolet dealership to showcase the new Fuelie GM RamJet 350 crate engine. They had it on display with the Red Rope Treatment in the showroom until the crate engine was no longer available. This car features a super high-quality frame-off restoration performed in 2010 and has only been driven 3,000 miles since. It is powered by a GM RamJet 350 fuel-injected engine producing 360 horsepower and 400 lb ft of torque, paired with a 4-speed H-pattern manual transmission. The Ram Jet 350 uses state of the art components developed by GM to give you all of the benefits of modern electron engine management. 

 

 

Exterior: The exterior of this 1957 Chevy Bel Air is finished in Tuxedo Black with a high gloss, two-stage paint that shows zero orange peel. The body is super straight with excellent panel fitment. It features one-piece California bumpers front and back, LED headlamps and tow intensity tail lamps, and factory-type tinted glass. The car rides on Mickey Thompson S/R tires, installed and dated 2023, mounted on steel rally wheels with Tuxedo Black high gloss and GM Chevy disk brake caps. All stainless steel and chrome components are in excellent condition and perfectly secured straight.  The undercarriage is gloss painted and rust free.

 

 

Interior: Inside, the Bel Air boasts a beautiful new Silver interior with new upholstery that fits perfectly with zero rips. The padded vinyl dashboard complements the 16-inch reproduction steering wheel, and the factory 18-inch steering wheel is included. It features an Ididit tilt steering column with a hazard light option and a digital RPM indicator with a shift light. The vinyl headliner and front seatbelts add to the car’s interior appeal, along with a clean trunk that includes a mat and fire extinguisher. This Bel Air has a center force couch with manual throw out bearing- pedal is very easy to depress. The doors close smoothly and latch quickly and while the door rain gutters work perfectly. The windows roll up and down nicely and are tight in the channel with new felt with factory type tinted gloss. 

 

 

Mechanical: Mechanically, this Bel Air is equipped with a GM crate engine RamJet 350 fuel-injected engine with 425 hours of use, approximately 8,500 miles on the motor. The engine features a cold air intake with a mass air flow sensor, aluminum radiator, chrome alternator and finned valve covers. It has a 4-speed H-pattern manual transmission with overdrive and a 3:55 ratio posi-traction rear differential. The car has new disc brakes up front wing AC Delco parts, a factory-type steering box that feels tight, stainless steel brake lines, and Hedman headers into a true dual exhaust with an X-pipe and Hooker Aero Chamber mufflers. Gear ratio ; 1st gear, 3.09, 2nd Gear 1.67, 3rd gear 0.73. This Chevy has a trunk mounted Diehard Gold Battery (2023) with 0-gauge grounds from chassis to frame, frame to body, body to engine and frame to engine. Rear engine mounts in perfect shape as are body bushings. This Bel Air still runs on factory type from engine perches. GM crate engine diagnostics computer included.
