The Chevrolet Corvette (C1) is the first generation of the Corvette sports car produced by Chevrolet. It was introduced late in the 1953 model year and produced through 1962.
The Corvette was rushed into production for its debut model year to capitalize on the enthusiastic public reaction to the concept vehicle.
The V8 was increased to 283 cu in (4.6 L), fuel-injection became a very expensive option, and a 4-speed manual transmission became available after April 9, 1957. GM’s Rochester subsidiary used a constant flow system, producing a listed 290 hp (216 kW) at 6200 rpm and 290 lb/ft (393 Nm) of torque at 4400 rpm

Greg Stirling lives and creates in San Jose, California. He is a member of the Guild of Motoring Artists. His work has been featured in numerous automotive art auctions. He started painting in 1980. After going through three decades of self-guided exploration in abstract expressionism, the art of the 20th century, and post-war impressionism, he arrived at the door of realism. To continue his area of study, Greg experimented with new techniques, media as well as innovative processes and concepts. Mr. Stirling is also an engineer, kinetic metal sculptor, and automotive enthusiast.
